SOCIAL EVENTS……SOCIAL EVENTS……SOCIAL EVENTS…….

The big social event of the new year is the arrival of the Chalons party from France on 5 February. We are expecting about 46 visitors for our annual exchange which started away back in 1981. We need offers of accommodation to host our visitors. Put you name up on the notice board at the rugby club if you can accommodate anyone or contact Dawn Bartwicki (dbartwicki@msn.com)

More details of the weekend to come. At present the plan is:

Friday, 5 February – Chalons party arrives; entertained by their hosts, at EKRFC or elsewhere.

Saturday, 6 February – EK hopefully (weather permitting) play Aberdeenshire in a Scottish Hydro National Shield cup match at Torrance House (Kick off 1430). And/or watch Six Nations matches on TV. Anniversary Dinner in the evening, Ballerup Hall, EK; Tickets £30 each. Contact Duk MacDonald to book your tickets. Why not be adventurous and book a table of 10!

Sunday, 7 February – Scotland v France (kick off 1500); with those not attending match entertained at EKRFC.

East Kilbride run two senior teams (we hope to soon have a third XV), three youth teams – Under 17s, Under 16s (both currently as joint ventures with our close neighbours Cambuslang) and an Under 15s, and thriving Mini section (there is a separate website for the minis – see the separate link).

We play at Torrance House (on the Strathaven Road) in East Kilbride. Senior training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays (be on the pitch ready for 7). Anyone interested in playing or supporting us – whether experienced or not – will be made very welcome.”
